a-pam is the software developed by the "a-pam (del nas)" project as a browser which explores the WWW and builds a disorientation map of its exploration emphasising the local viewpoint

a-pam is software which currently operates over a server based on PHP, MySQL, Java and javaScript

a-pam is free software

a-pam is not a closed project; it continues to develop. We aim for it to be a community development project

current version:
a-pam 0.0.1 [proto011]
requires Java

all a-pam modules are regulated by the GPL free software license. You can consult the terms of this licence at: http://www.gnu.org/copyleft/gpl.html

PHP is an open code language developed by a community of programmers, it belongs to The PHP Group and has its own license.
Java is a language created by Sun Microsystems.
MySQL is an open code data base.

a-pam is an initiative of the "taller d'intangibles" which was set in motion thanks to the support of the call made for disorientation maps by the "la Caixa" Foundation's webside 1.0, curated by the Rodríguez Foundation.

objectives

···

Immediate objectives

ˇ Complete some details of the proto011 prototype to make the defintive version 0.0.1

ˇ Correct any possible errors in the a-pam version 0.0.1 in order to achieve an a-pam version 0.0.2 with the maximum stability possible

Short-term objectives

ˇ Identify and correct possible errors in many different visited pages

· Keep the number of data base nodes within a limited ranged, deleting reagulary older and less visited nodes.

ˇ Make a version of a-pam for individual sessions initiated by each user

ˇ Show the names of users connected to the collective session

ˇ Graphically differentiate the non-visited nodes from those that have been visited and the nodes that have disappeared (404) or that contain no legible HTML.

ˇ Modify the upload (spiders) button to choose a node with a different domain name from current page (to scape from high internal linked sites)

Other non-priority aims

ˇ Create a version of a-pam which only functions on the local computer, with no server (based solely on Java/javaScript)

ˇ Create a version of the client application based on SVG instead of Java

ˇ Be available a user control of growth limits of data base.
